Helping Others
Here at Scargill we love to help others whenever we can (helpfulness is one of our STARFISH values) and one way we do this is through raising awareness and fundraising for a variety of charities. On this page you can find the latest charity we are raising funds for, along with details of previous fundraising efforts.
We would like to thank our staff, children, parents and the wider community in making this page possible, because with it is a team effort in raising donations for the valued charities.

HARVEST FESTIVAL - OCTOBER 2023
Message from West Hallam Methodist Church:
"Everyone at West Hallam Methodist Church sends a huge THANKYOU to the pupils, families, staff and friends of Scargill School for choosing to support our food bank by donating the gifts from your Harvest celebrations.
This is a wonderful example of our village community helping those in need, so often what we see in the news highlights negative things so let’s celebrate something really positive, we know there are lots of good things happening all the time that folks often just don’t get to hear about.
We support people in West Hallam and Stanley Common from the Foodbank, open weekly on a Friday from 10.00 to 11.00am at the Methodist Church on High Lane and your donations will make a huge difference. Everything we are able to supply comes from voluntary donations of both goods and cash and all those who help run the foodbank are volunteers. It is part of our community outreach available to anyone in need.
Thank you once again for your wonderful support, the West Hallam Community is something very special that we are all grateful to be a part of."
